Markers with shanks are installed by drilling a 50mm hole into the pavement surface, clearing dust with compressed air, pouring specialized two-component epoxy adhesive mortar, and inserting the shank firmly. Pavement markers without shanks are bonded directly to cleaned asphalt using high-strength bitumen or epoxy pads.
As per IRC:35 guidelines: White road studs indicate lane line dividers and centerlines; Amber (Yellow) studs mark the right-hand edge of dual carriageways and median dividers; Red studs denote the left-hand road shoulder or hazard line; and Green studs indicate deceleration lanes and entry/exit slip roads.
